After a long break HA had the return of Felipe. From the very early days of Ambrose Archery Felipe has been a feature of the place and now joining in with HA for some competition. Great to see another compound on the line.
The recurvers saw a very close ending Simon taking 1st with 488, Glenn taking 2nd with 487 and Dougal 3rd with you guessed it 486.
With the field open in the absence of Joseph, Mark scored a 466 to take out the Barebow.

This week saw Mark and Joseph go up against each other in the Barebow division. Mark took this one but we should see an excellent battle develop over time.
We also saw Simon come out on top taking out the normally triumphant Dougal.
Things are getting interesting

Indoor League Final for 2017 this Sunday 26th November
Final round this Sunday with double points to the division winners. Presentations will be followed by a BBQ and the range will be closed to the public from 10 till 1. Let’s see every lane filled and have a great time wrapping up the year and see who takes out the neck-and-neck battle between Victor and James for the recurve title.
Indoor League Sunday 19th November
In the second last week of the 2017 league, Victor tops the recurve scores with an impressive PB and new club recurve record of 550. This also sets the scene for an exciting final week with Victor and James currently tied for first place and Dougal not far behind.
Indoor League Sunday 12th November
Dougal takes the recurve points with a score of 522
The inaugural Sunday indoor archery shoot
The 11th of December saw the inaugural shoot starting from 10am till 12pm on Sundays.
Event – World Archery Indoor Archery Round
18m, 60 arrows, Compounds score an inner ten.
Compound
With the unusual situation of only one compound shooter in attendance Cory extended his lead in his division with another 9 points. I’m guessing Cory is not a morning person taking 30 arrows to warm up.
Cory – 247 + 261 = 508
Recurve
The Recurve division was more contested with four archers competing. This was the first scoring round for Frank and Andrew in a very long time and Andrew did well to keep it on the target as 18m on the small target in further then he is used to. Frank also warmed up as the comp progressed scoring 30 better in the second half. James and Dougal are finding the gold with greater frequency with both putting in some very good ends but James managed to hold off Dougal and take todays winn.
James – 232 + 229 = 461
Dougal – 208 + 214 = 422
Frank – 167 + 197 = 364
Andrew – 104 + 95 = 199
Monday – 6th club shoot
Monday saw the beginning of the Heidelberg Archers Shooting year; starting in Summer.
We had five member attending with 3 shooting, I (Glenn) had a lot of beginners at the centre so my attention was elsewhere and David who had done his shoulder in has to wait 2 weeks before shooting again.
This leaves Cory (compound), Richard (recurve) and Victor (recurve)to battle it out.
ROUND – World Archery 18m
The night managed to bring out the best from Cory and Richard with both recording personal bests. Victor is taking a long term view and is at the moment concentrating on his technique and flinging a lot of arrows down the range.
Compound
Cory 271 + 263 = 534
Recurve
Richard 242 + 243 = 485
Victor 225 + 246 = 471
Club Championship
Compound

Recurve

New club Polos on the way.
At the moment we are organising our club tops and taking orders.
So it you want to get involved in some club archery please don’t be shy and to help you blend in buy at top.
Club shoot Monday 7:30
Club shoots are happening on Monday’s at 7:30 and go until 9’ish.
If you have an interest in archery then come along and we will help you get started.
As a new club we have been getting a small committed turn out of 5 or 6 archers. Due to the small numbers it is all in; recurves, longbows and compounds.
When I was shooting at Horsham the shoots there were similarly small and I remember it being friendly and enjoyable. Later the club grew the club didn’t become less friendly or enjoyable but I looked back fondly of the small times. So get in early you will enjoy.
Kind Regards
Glenn
